Recently the U.S. Postal Service sent a letter to Texas Secretary of State Ruth Hughs advising of “heightened risk” to Texas voters of USPS not being able to meet various statutory deadlines around voting by mail.
In response, I sent a letter to Gov. Abbott and Sec. Hughs urging decisive action to mitigate this situation and ensure that every vote that is legally cast will be duly counted. I want to thank my colleagues who lent their voices towards this critical issue and towards upholding the integrity of our electoral system.
