Winter weather has moved into Central Texas, with temperatures dropping and chances of precipitation on the horizon. We expect ice on the roads could cause transportation issues later this afternoon to tomorrow. There is also a possibility of sleet and snow, and the low temperatures and wind chill will be dangerous for the next few days.
Here you will find Winter Weather preparation resources, including a resources overview, a list of suggested actions, and a preparedness video in English and in Spanish.
Additionally, you can monitor driving conditions on local roads at DriveTexas.org and find a map of warming centers.

STEAR
Texas maintains the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry, which is a voluntary database that helps local emergency planners and emergency responders obtain additional information on the needs in their community.
As part of that, there is also the Medically Fragile Registry, which I passed into law after Winter Storm Uri. If you or a loved one have Alzheimer’s or related disorders, receive dialysis, are dependent on oxygen treatment, have been diagnosed with a debilitating chronic illness, or receive 24-hour care from a skilled nurse, you can sign up to receive a wellness check in certain disasters or emergencies.
As always, if you need assistance, my office is here to help. You can reach us at 512-463-0696 or District136.Bucy@house.texas.gov. Stay safe, and stay warm!
