I’m honored to have been part of two of Progress Texas’ Best Moments of 2019: defeating anti-voter attempts including the attempted voter purge and S.B. 9, a draconian anti-voting measure, as well as forcing a record vote on Medicaid expansion, which would bring our tax dollars back to Texas to get our neighbors the care they need. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and keep fighting every day for House District 136 and the people of Texas!

Best: The 2019 Texas Legislative Freshmen
“The 2019 Texas Legislative Session had 14 Democratic freshmen, and they made a big impact. Moments that stood out include… John Bucy (D-Austin) successfully getting the first recorded vote on Medicaid expansion. These are steps in the right direction and exactly what the voters asked for in 2018…”
Best: Defeating Anti-Voter Attempts
“…From mass statewide voter purge of U.S. citizens to force anti-voter policies through the legislative process. Voters, progressive organizations, and elected officials stood up to anti-voter attacks and demonstrated the muscle needed to rebuild our crumbling election system and eradicate the hurdles to voting.”
